absolute bottom positioning in all browsers

Hello people, i really hope someone can help me as this has been driving me nuts for agers.

I am building a website and using quite a standard layout, header at top, navigation on the left, content on the right (which grows to the size of the content) and then a footer below the content.

Now does anybody know how i can position my footer so it always stays below my content using CSS that works on every browser. or am i going to have to do the sontent 1st then postion the footer on each page? i hope not .

if anyone could help me you would make my day, well you would make my week.

Do you mean across the bottom of the browser or across the bottom of the document?
Does the footer have to be below the left nav bar?

<div style="clear:both;">footer content</div> is one way to try it.

I would love it to be at the bottom of the document, i.e below the navigation and content would be best but i dont mind if it is at the bottom of the browser really, just want it to be at the bottom and so far different browsers are makig this a stressfull experience.

Stephen.... can you post a URL so we can see the flow of the document you want to add a footer to?
