Re: css IE/ firefox differences

This question is so vague ...

While developing just make sure you test (along the way) in EVERY browsers ... not just FF and IE but Opera and Safari too.

If you need to use hacks, use conditional elements instead to send a "browser specific css" with only the problematic styles.

Re: css IE/ firefox differences

use all the standards possable, and don't use specific IE controls IG like style"microsoft: ... or Prog:"
anything that can be put in a style sheet or style tag, do it.

Well hope it helps, it has helped an erp system I helped design grow, into firefox2.0 and IE7 compatable. IE6 is another story ...

Re: css IE/ firefox differences

I would suggest concentrating on FF and then editing to render in IE. By concentrating on FF you are making it more cross-browser friendly. If you worry about IE first you'll be nuts before it is finished.

Depending on how far off in IE it is you may need an alternate stylesheet. The main issue in IE is positioning, there are others but positioning is the main one.
