how to stop flash Cs3 looping animation

Hello I am a newbie and I am designing a web site (my first web site) and have decided to include a flash banner. I have gone through various Flash tutorials and found them quite interesting however my brain it’s no longer working, perhaps it needs a major brain defragmentation; I have so many ideas but only a few are getting fulfilled. Here is my problem
I basically want to design a banner with clouds in motion as the background, and a flying dove entering the scene from left to right and resting on top of a revolving earth gif file. I have done most of it but I cannot make the peace dove to hover ontop of the earth movieclip, it always desappears and the loop starts again....... I want the flying dove to stop and change its position towards the user….and then stop........I have included the swf file perhaps someone can give some pointers……thnaks

can you not put stop(); on the frame you want to stop?

I have tried the "stop ();" but it stops the cloud looping, and the idea is to keep the dove hovering above the revolving planet while everything else is still lopping.....Oh dear back to the tuts I guess...thanks anyway for your input....

If they are separate elements you should be able to leave the cloud looping but put a stop() command of the dove.

The dove should be MC on one layer, and the clouds should be a MC on another layer...

And inside those MC's should be the dove's wings flapping and in the other the clouds moving with no stop commands so they keep looping.

You can then keyframe animate the dove flying around on the top most level of the flash animation - and then put the stop(); command on the maintimeline where you want the dove to stop of the MC's to keep looping.

Thanks guys for the advise.....I think the problem is that I have the clouds only as a series of frames and not as a Movie Clip....I would have to change the clouds into a MC and take it from there...I'lll report back
