before you start on the techi stuff go thought the flash tutorial which are supplied with flash application, this will give you a good basic unserstanding. flash actionscipt is evolving fast so try to learn the latest version of actionscript if possible as a lot of functions have depreciated in older version of flash. try also reading some basic guides to OOP which will help you understand how objects work in flash.
