Flex

Can someone tell me what Flex is? I hear people talking about it but haven't really got a clue what they're going on about.

Phew where to start...

Um, basically it is flash in steroids. It allows the developing of rich internet applications for web sites and other stuff web related.

For instance, I can build a YouTube-esk video uploader using flex and build a user interface around it, etc.

The things you can do with it are almost endless. If you incorporate Apollo/Flex together, you can build desktop Flash applications that send and receive information from web sites without even having the web site pulled up.

i.e. Check out Ebay's Apollo application, lets you monitor auctions, listings, etc without even going on to Ebay's site.
