Dreamweaver

Dreamweaver CS3 SUCKS! Don't bother buying it. Adobe have ruined it!

Dreamweaver 8 was much better in my opinion, and it didn't mess up your code like CS3 does!

I think I'll go take a look at the HTML Editors thread. Perhaps I will find something nice there!

Re: Dreamweaver

I find it hard to believe that the Code View messes up code

Re: Dreamweaver

Me too! When I preview the code in a browser a </div> or </ul> is always out of place! Maybe it a bug or something.

Re: Dreamweaver

I'm sorry but I just developed a test site using DW CS3 using design view and it has practically perfect code. Like Moojoo said a little while back, DW is a tool, if you don't know how to use that tool then its hardly the program's fault. I don't use DW to code normally, I'm far too attached to my other editirs but my opinion of it has changed massively over the past few weeks and I believe that it is an excellent program that can, if used with due care and good knowledge, produce solid, accessible code. Oh and the CS3 version is the best yet, so if you do use DW I'd recommend it strongly.

Pete.

Re: Dreamweaver

I can't see how I was doing it wrong. I mean, is there a certain way to type code into dreamweaver?

Re: Dreamweaver

I had the newest Dreamweaver on my computer (CS3). Quite honestly, I prefer my old DW. I finally took CS3 off. It may be because I understand the old boys tricks and traps, but I just never could get comfortable with CS3.

If you want to try it, go right ahead. This is just my own opinion about the program.

Re: Dreamweaver

I think the integration with the rest of the creative suite is good enough reason to buy it if you do use it. I don't use it myself it just came with the pack I got. I don't know any of the old tricks and never used DW8 extensively so I'm talking from more of a first time user point of view. DW CS3 certainly has more features though. The spry integration looks cool too but I don't know what sort of code that produces.

Pete.

Re: Dreamweaver

Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you away. I am sure it is an excellent program and as you say, it is a nice collection of programs.
