Hello Everyone,
I have recently started a community website build around people bragging about their pets, cars, travel, hobbies, etc. Users connecting through blogs, forums and photo sharing.
I am looking for some feedback regarding the website idea, choice of colors, design. I am also open to any suggestions you may have on how can I improve this site.
Thank you,
Eugene

Re: Community website feedback

Well.... I think it's alright. It has potential to say the least.

I think it's just to busy. I didn't know where to look.

You've used tables instead of CSS divs. You also have 166 HTML errors on your homepage alone, you failed accessibility validation as well.

Another weird thing is you get little squares around the outside in firefox on some pages. Not sure why.

Your image navigation is a bit pixelated too, as is your flash. Maybe that's being picky though.

Apart from that it's quite good work. I see the development has been done well. With a little extra work this could be a really great website!

Re: Community website feedback

Hi Eugene..
What a cute site. Fun colors, fun topic, cute logo! This is a site I would go to!
I agree with Blake that the graphics are pixellated. Even the little smileys are fuzzy. I'd fix all that because it's taking away some of the fun!

It would be nice if you could regulate what size photos people are using for their avatar because they are so messed up and distorted. It's taking away from the rest.

Overall... really cool!

Re: Community website feedback

I love this. Supercool (did I actually say that?) colours and its well layed out. There may be a bit too much info on that home page but it seems to work quite well in this case. I do adore those smileys and the overall look is brilliant. Ditto on the pixelated images and the sooner you sort them the better.

Shame about the tables but perhaps you will make the transition in the future. There are some great resources in the css/html forums and we can guide you along if you ever do decide to switch.

Pete.

Thank you all for your nice comments, I really appreciate your feedback. The site is still in the stage of development and constantly updated. I'll try to resolve those issues and will work on them.
Thanks again,
Eugene

Re: Community website feedback

You might want to filter the member search.
e.g.
XSS:

This bit is important:
Can you please reply to my PM....I was able to get full shell access to your website. I'll let you know how you can fix it, I just don't want to post it in public.
