Re: Help Me Im New Sortof

Are you sure it's XML you want? And not HTML or XHTML?

Any XML book will do but ... you can't just use XML ... no browser reads it properly.

Yes start with HTML or XHTML (very similar) and CSS if that is something you aren't familiar with!

Re: Help Me Im New Sortof

Interesting question there. People will argue that one for a long time. I personally use XHTML but HTML is just as good. XHTML uses nearly all the same mark-up as HTML there are just some extra rules with XHTML that can make it more difficult to implement.

I would recommend starting with HTML and then as you get to grips with the language you can read a bit about the differences between the two. There aren't many differences but they are different technologies and the differences will become more apparent in the future as XHTML isn't currently being used as it should be.

I recommend heading over to htmldog and following the tutorials there. They are excellent. Also have a look in Karinne's signature, there are some links that you will find very useful. That should enough to get you started. If you have any more questions then don't hesitate to ask.

Hope that helps,

Pete.
