Deleting 'locked' Macromedia Contribute Code
I have a site to overhaul that has been built with Macromedia Contribute, and subsequently has HTML comments everywhere that are locked and cannot be deleted in Dreamweaver.
How do I disable Dreamweaver's Contribute support? |

Is it a normal html file?
Why not just delete them in a text editor? |

I could, but there are so many files it would take too long.
I'd rather to stop Dreamweaver detecting it as Contribute code... |

I'm not 100% sure, but can you go to Manage Sites, select your site, choose Edit, then go to Contribute in the left column and make sure Enable Contribute Compatability is turned off?
If not, you'll have to go through each page in a text editor and delete the comments, though there is free-ware out there that'll do it for you. |
