Changing Meta Tags

I have a premade website. How can I change the meta tags (keyword). I know it can't be done, I'm just not sure how.

Re: Changing Meta Tags

Can you see the html code in your template? Or can you open a document that ends in .html or htm?

In that document at the top of the page is where you will find the code.

Re: Changing Meta Tags

It looks like this...

Code: Select all
		<meta name="description" content="Your description here!" />
		<meta name="keywords" content="your, keywords, here" />

Re: Changing Meta Tags

Thank you. I know how to write them, it's just I cannot access them. When I log in as "site admin" I can alter certain sections. I can enter HTML to bold things, center, etc. However, when I enter the tag info it doesn't change them. They are defaulted to "dotnetnuke,dnn". If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it!

Also, I cannot open the html document.

Re: Changing Meta Tags

I don't think so...See it's a website that you purchase already made. My website looks almost identical to two others. These two others happen to be ranked 3 and 5 in yahoo search. I did a scrub my site analysis and I see that those two sites have been able to change their keyword tags. When I log in as "site admin" to my premade site I can change my "my welcome", "my story" and "my events". I opened the page in frontpage, but if I save it I don't own the page so the changes don't occur. Also, there is a file I can use labeled portal.css but I don't know abou that.

Can I maybe e-mail you? I'm so frustrated.
