Hey,
You can either have an effect such as glow applied to it and set the feather to quite high. Increase the resolution of the image and scale it down (this is what is done with high quality imaging) Anti alias the corners with the stroke type (depends what program your using) |

If you know what colour the background will be you could save it with a 'Matte' of that colour.
If you intend it to go over many different colours than you'll need to convert it to a .PNG file which supports transparency (although few browsers supprt .PNG files without additonal JavaScript code - google for 'sleight' for a solution) |

Thanks D3mon,
OMG, who knew making images was this complicated! I guess it just seems that way because it`s all new to me. I`m just experimenting with images I could possibly use for when I redo my site in css, so I`m not sure about bg colours etc. yet. One thing at a time, I guess- I`m still going through the envisioning process of what I`d like the site to look like. I get the .png suggestion, but considering I don`t know any javascript... just not there yet. But I will keep your suggestions in mind. |

Howdy,
Well, this is a .png, so does that mean that some browsers cannot see this avatar? I got the thing looking real good in fireworks by increasing the resolution, and fixing the size, but then the file size was too big for here. So I used the export wizard to help me. Now it looks blurry. Sigh. It will have to do for now...I`m tired! |

Cool- I wonder if someone will post some sort of instructions as to how to submit articles, like what kind of document should it be, length, etc. you know, for web novices like me. Maybe I`ll try my hand at writing a music article.
So, how is this avatar? It`s a gif. I`m fairly satisfied with it. I think. |

Once its all up and running it will all be explained.
The image looks good, where abouts you gonna place it on the site? |

Great.
Thanks. This note is just one of several attempts to become proficient enough in the graphics department to make a decent-looking css website, which is my next goal. It`s still in the planning stage (in my head). I really want to do a non-table based layout. I still need to investigate transparent bg`s. Thanks for your time/help/knowledge! |
