Mostly, if you are taking classes that require you use a particular software... ie webdesign. Most of the software companies give big discounts. When I got my MSCIS degree, I got a Free copy of Office...granted that was a few years ago. So if you are taking any design classes you might ask your instructor if he or she can get you software with educational discount.

Re: Creative Suite

Clear your workspace
The toolbars can all (left and right) be minimized so you have the whole screen for designing (great feature)
Line up photographs for a panoramic picture.
Make real 3d images (don't know how, but I saw them do it at a seminar..)

There's so much stuff in cs3..

Re: Creative Suite

Adobe have a sheet you download and fill in. Then you get your code after they OKed everything. You can the master suite in the uk for about £700 instead of over 2 grand. They wouldn't let me though. I had to buy it at full price. Now I'm out of pennies

As for tips, just have aplay. There are lots of features and workflow has been improved. I like to set up my workspace just how I want it. That way evertything is easy to get at saving me lots of time. Bit boring maybe but very useful.

Pete.

Re: Creative Suite

Okay I would recommend Academic Superstore. They actually can get it for you cheaper then Adobe can. You see they buy in bulk....blah, blah, blah. Anyway, all they require is that you show somehow that you are currently enrolled in school. So just show them your schedule or student card...etc. Check them out!
