Sliding Button Technique

Hey all, I'm working on a new project at work and trying to figure out how to make this work. I'm trying to create something similar to the sliding buttons that you see here on this msn website:

http://music.msn.com/music/newthisweek

I won't make it as big as that but you get the concept. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm not a newbie but not an expert either.

I think i have a file on the old pc i playes round with this years ago after i saw the VW uk site.

I can't find it but this was something simular. You can change the words to graphics and change from vertical to hozontial.

This is not my work, so please credit the name on the top right.
