Alot of stuff that i need help with

Ok i am starting to work with Dreamweaver UltraDev 4 and ASP and acess.... now there is some stuff that i was curious on how to do...


I will explain that this site is a guild site for a MMO game that i play....

1a. Forums, now i know that using premade ones will work better, but i am curious if i can use the premaid forums on my site, and make them blend if that makes sense.... look like the belong there, and werent just premaid and pasted.

1b. Now u have to log in for forums, is there a way that i can link the login for my site to the login for the forums for they dont have to log into both.


2. I want when ppl log in to my site to be able to edit there character stats, and then have that updated info be displayed on the membership section of the site.

3. I want to intigrate a feature that guild members can create an event (raids, dungeons, ect....) and then it will be posted on the homepage, sending out a EMail to all guild members, and then they have the chance to sign up for it...

4. Have members being able to create blogs, like a livejournal if they want...

I am not sure if any of that is possible, or if it makes sense, but i would like some help if it is possible....

Yeah, its entirly possible to edit premade ones to suit your site, just a case of altering css and html, maybe a few images.

Yeah, again, very easily possible. how much asp experience do you have?

would this still be linked in with the forum profile password? yeah, sounds like it could be done. im not too familer with Dun and Drag tho but yeah, reading it again sounds easy. what email type?

One thing strikes me here - what asp knowledge do you have? fortunatly what your trying to acomplish is fairly simple, but would take a considerable amount of time.

ok well i will be the first to admit that i am not all to familar with ASP. I can create a login script and registration script but much beyond that i am flying blind. I am a quick learner though. If you could point me in the general direction i want to go i know i could figure all of this out.

Yes, pretty much everything i said comes from being logged into the site (the blog, the event creation, the character editing process), and the EMail type would be whatever one they porvided when registering for the site.

yeah sorry, i could have worded that a bit better. i mean, you wanted pointing in the right direction, so, what would be the first "job" or task you would need to do first, so i can help you down the right direction

Ok well i guess we might as well start off with the thing that has me most confused, the character creation ability of the member, thing 2 on my list. I guess what i need to happen is when ppl log into the site they see a character creation/edit button next to there name, from there they can edit stats and gear that they are wearing. Once there editing is done, they click update and that info is then placed in a members section of the site.
