Re: The Niche Marketer's Club
Its ok. Why not put your different content on different pages to keep it neater because theres way too much text on the home page at the moment.
I think you could work on making a better logo. Something more exciting and interesting. (And different). I won't talk about the code because its not very good. |

Re: The Niche Marketer's Club
Hi Katharine:
First of all, your site failed validaton because it doesn't have a doc type. You need to put that in immediately. That's critical to how different browsers will see and read and interpret your site. You are on the right track with your coding. You are using div's, id's, p's etc. Now try to put all the deprecated stuff like "font", weight, size" in css. That will take all the bloat out of your code and reduce the load time. You can link to an external style sheet and make your life for updating and maintenance so much easier. You do need to move away from tables at some point too. Now to the next step: Grammar: Yikes! You need a proofreader.. Quote:
You need to add some padding to the edges. Some of the text is right up against the white edges. In my opinion, I think you have too many font styles (bold, italics) too many colors, and no consistancy. The table that says Number of people searching for keyword is aligned right I think. It should be centered. Personally I have seen a million of these types of sites. I can't remember what they are called. All hype and one long page. Not a fan of them at all. I would never buy from a site like this .. it just doesn't feel trustworthy. I can't find contact info.. who you are, what you about, how do I know that it's worth the money. Testimonials would help build confidence but I'm afraid the site needs loads of work before you go public. I don't mean to offend you Katharine, I know you have worked hard on this. Polish it up, get some consistency in styling and that will help. Linda |

Re: The Niche Marketer's Club
Hi Katharine
I agree with what has been said so far. A few other things I would add: 1) I'm certainly no SEO expert, but a few of your SEO things strike me as slightly unusual. Your page title is a long string of keywords, now I know that the title is important for SEO, but I'm not sure that cramming so many keywords into the title is a good idea is it? Also you say that keywords in the content should be in bold - I don't mean to be insulting, but that sounds a bit like an SEO urban legend to me, I find it hard to believe that would help (I'm happy to be proved wrong though, as I say, I'm no expert!). 2) I'm not totally clear on exactly what I would get for my money, I know you've listed it out, but for instance where you say "A complete, custom-built, fully operational niche website which is search-engine friendly" and "1 additional complete website per month", a lot of questions come to mind such as: How much say would I have in what goes into those websites? Is hosting included? Can I pick my own domain name? Why do I want another new website every month? I think that needs to be spelled out a little clearer, with some actual visual example of what type of website I would get. 3) One thing that would definitely set the alarm bells off for me is where you say "If you...you are guaranteed to make money online". I think that's a bold and dangerous claim - NOBODY is guaranteed to make money online no matter what they do. Sorry if this seems very negative, but credibility is everything with the type of business you're doing, so I hope you will see the comments as constructive as there are a lot of fairly simple things you can do which would improve the site a lot. Good luck with it |

Ok to answer some of these questions. 1) No, having a string of random keywords in your title will not help you with search engines unless they are supportive of your content. If your content matches this then yes it could help you out, but at the same time your giving a bad visual to your prospective clients. Beware doing this though because if Google or Yahoo decides that your doing this for spam they will block your site from their search engines. 2) Bolding text does nothing positive for search engines. It makes it stand out to the public eye but search engines just read that as a regular tag nothing fancy. If you use <H1-6> tags for your bold words then yes it will help with search engines because it takes that as additional headers for your page. But like everything it must be used properly because if you overdue it you will be penalized by search engines for spam.

Re: The Niche Marketer's Club
hey okay first off your homepage design looks too simple you need to redesign your homepage.i have noticed that your text size varies from different sections try to keep your text in one size throughout the page(except for titles).
you do not have a DOCTYPE. I know your are trying to emphasize the words that are highlighted in yellow although you do not need that instead you could just make the word bold. Your homepage is tooo long you should make a navigation bar that way its easier for the website visitors they can easily navigate through your pages. I have noticed through your source code that you are using tables instead try to use css you get more out of it. You have tooo many coding errors try to fix and validate your website through the w3c website it well benefit you and and your site viewers will know that you have taken the time and care to check and validate your page. Your website title is way long make it nice and short and make it so it attracts your website viewers. Yeah thats all i can think of lol and there might be some spelling mistakes because i was typing fast. |
