Color Changing Logo
Hey, forgive me for not using the beginner forums, but I figure this can't be terribly simple. I'm building a website for a bank in Microsoft Expression and I'm putting in a logo in my header that I want to change color while the page is being viewed. Can I get a bit of help? I'm not all that... wise... when it comes to this sort of thing.

Re: Color Changing Logo
In what way do you want to to change colour? Do you want it to fade from colour to colour or suddenly change? Could you elaborate please.

Re: Color Changing Logo
Alright, here's what I'm looking for. I want the attached logo to gradually change colors in my header. It is on a black background and about a quarter of this size. The main colors on the page are a deep red and goldenrod, if it helps. I just want this logo to fade from color to color, gradually, not suddenly. Does that help?

Re: Color Changing Logo
You could do that in Flash or if your using Microsoft's Web Design Suite then whatever the equivalent is. I think it would be quite simple to do. Do you have a copy of flash or some vector animation software? Let us know what software you are using and we can help you further. If you don't have any suitable software you can always download a free trial of Flash Pro from Adobe's site.

Re: Color Changing Logo
I am downloading the Flash Pro trial as I type. What's my first step going to be? I have no experience in flash.

Re: Color Changing Logo
Jacob? Scott? Someone help!
I'm afraid Flash is a bit out of my comfort zone, someone else will be of more help, I'm sure. But I will have a play and see how you would do this. I'll get back to you. I have a pretty good idea but I'll just have to try some things. Pete. |

Re: Color Changing Logo
Go ahead and repost this question in the flash forum if you want. Scott and Jacob are the resident flash experts. Scott doesn't venture out of that forum so if you post there he can read it.
I do know you will plop your logo in the stage. Change it to a symbol and then play with the properties. You can tween from one color to the next... But I'm useless unless I have the program open so I'll just be quiet now. |

Re: Color Changing Logo
You'll probably need a few different versions of the logo in the different colours and they will need to be in acertain file format I would imagine. But I think I'm just confusing matters here. Repost in the flash forum like Linda said and it should get sorted quite quickly. It's not overly complex.

Re: Color Changing Logo
Quote:
1. File, Import, Import to stage... Find the picture and click import. 2. Select all of the picture and hit F8 on your keyboard. Select the "Movie Clip" bubble and type a name for the object like logo_mc. 3. Now select frame 30. Hit F6 on your keyboard. This inserted you a keyframe to work with. 4. Now deselect everything by clicking in the grey area of the stage. Then click the logo, and in the properties panel you should see "Color None." Select that drop down and select tint. Play around with the settings and get everything like you want it. 5. Now right click frame 1 and select "Create Motion Tween." Now the object is going to tween from the original color to the new color. You can play around with the tween settings and change how fast it tweens...etc. Also you can create multiple keyframes to have it tween from color to color. This can also be done via ActionScript, but since you are a newbie that might be a little harder. Edit: I see this question has already been answered in the flash forum, oh well, I guess that is what I get for not checking the flash forum like Linda suggested. Here is my answer anyway...lol. |
