Load part of a page.

I am building a site with a flash header. The links are in the flash. When someone clicks a link I only want the bottom part of the page to change. I know this can be done with frames but I want the entire page to scroll and not just the bottom half. I can use php include to load a separate page in a table cell, but then the flash still has to reload when you go to a different page. Does anyone know how to do this?

Re: Load part of a page.

There is probably some tricky javascript for doing this, otherwise, I can't think of a way.

Re: Load part of a page.

So why not load a php include in a div?

Re: Load part of a page.

The flash will still have to reload/replay when someone goes to another page...

Re: Load part of a page.

The only way I know to do it is javascript, preferably AJAX.

How would I do it with AJAX? I have never used it and know only a little javascript.

Re: Load part of a page.

You could try using an iframe maybe?

Re: Load part of a page.

Well yeah, I know, but by the sound of it thats not an issue. He wants to have his navigation as a flash file which isnt extactly great for seo either.
