Hosting, I don't use Site5 myself, but every one here raves about them so at least take a look. Good luck on your search for a host.

The lowest plan is 5 bucks a month (with two year contract). No ads and you can host up to 110 different domains for no extra charge. They're the best I've ever used without question.

Re: Looking for a new host...

Yeah, so it is only $120 for two years. They just raised their plans and now are selling 110GB Diskspace, 5TB Bandwidth, and 110 Domains. It's all add free, unless you want to put an ad on it yourself!

Frankly speaking, i've never seen ads on paid hosting.

Re: Looking for a new host...

Strato are a very cheap and good host. I have just taken up my third years hosting with them and they have let me have it for their current 'new users' offer of £1 GBP for the first year!!!!! thats for the basic 1Gb storage 10Gb monthly Bandwidth, but you do get 500 1Gb email addy's aswell, and also some nice free software which you just pay £3.99 GBP postage on. They are very good and reliable, and need I say Cheap!

Re: Looking for a new host...

I have a site 5 account and I have to admit despite my reservation they're excellent. You do have to pay up front for two years in order to get that 5 dollar deal. $120 isn't $5 but it's not that misleading and it's a brilliant service. Though it takes a bit of getting used to backstage if you haven't used it before. Easy now though.

Media temple are better but they don't charge $5. Simple. Go with Site 5.

Pete.

Re: Looking for a new host...

Yeah, also I thought I would though godaddy.com into the mix. They are pretty cheap. Also hostgator.com is great, cause it uses the cpanel. But I like site5 the best!

Valuhost.com offers Linux hosting for $15.95 and Windows hosting for the same price. I consider it's not very expensive.

But it'll be overselling IMO.

Probably, but I've been with them for almost half a year and I've got nothing but good things to say about Site5.

I thought only free hosts put ads on the sites you host with them.

Not always. But you have to discuss these things with your host beforehand and read their TOS very attentively.
247-host.com is a reputable hosting with nice prices. You may try them too.
