Hyperlink to file download opens instead of save option
Hi all,
I am new to web design and I have a very basic question that is holding me up. I am creating a site to share gps reference files and a main element is to be able to download the file from my site. The issue I have is that when you follow the hyperlink, instead of giving thee option to save the file, it simply open it instead!! http://www.gpstrax.net/mtb/mtb_fr/mt...disclaimer.htm I am using frontpage 2002 to build the site. I would very much appreciate any advice on this please. Chhers mickyd |

This is usually controlled with the way the server is setup. You'd want to set a correct MIME type for that file extension, it's probably just guessing at it right now and choosing 'text'.
Otherwise you'd have to try something like streaming the file download using a server side language like ASP. |
