Content Appears Based on Drop-Down Menu Selection

Dear WebForumz:

I am using a web/e-mail form for my clients to edit their website information. I would like to create a drop-down menu that, based on the user's selection, another drop-down menu and other new content appears below.

I know there are ways where depending on the first drop-down menu selection, the second drop-down menu changes. I, however, want the second drop-down menu to not be there until the user actually makes a selection from the first drop-down menu.

In other words, I would like to create content on the webpage that will appear when "called" by the user's selection from the drop-down menu.

Thank you for any help! I'd greatly appreciate it!

Regards,
Mike

And you want to do this in Javascript, or do you have access to a server side language such as ASP/PHP?

You could do that and then use CSS to just hide the second menu until it's needed.

I do not have much (or any for that matter) knowledge in ASP or PHP. If you could explain a certain script from those languages, I would be happy to use them. If JavaScript can do this, I would be glad to use that, too.

Just to make sure we're on the right track, each selection in the first drop-down menu will bring up different content & drop-down menu. If there is a way to do this with CSS, then I'd greatly appreciate it if you could show me. (And if you happen to know the "double drop-down menu" script, if you could provide it.) Remember, I would like not only a new dropdown but text to appear as well.

Any questions (as I know this is probably confusing in at least one way) please let me know! I have a lot of patience, so if you don't understand something just let me know. I greatly appreciate your time & help!

Regards,
Mike
