Hi
This is my first real post, I am trying to learn php. And trying to load Apache. While loading Apache i have an error message saying: Syntex error on line 253 <directory> directive missing closing '>' Then another error message saying :No installed server name Apache2. Can sombody help a compete layman and a bit of a Homa simpson sort this out. Many thanks Alan. |

I'm assuming you're running this on Windows?
You must have modified your apache2.conf or your sites-available/default file (as it is in Linux - try to find your equivalent). The apache2.conf file is a general configuration file for Apache. The default file instructs Apache whcih directory you want to host and any special options you want for that directory. From the error it sounds like you're missing a > from one or your < directory > directives. |

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, could you perhaps explain to me Ive mananeged to load Apache, but in the MYODBC it says Driver 3.51 not found and I cant set up mysql password through browser by entering http://127.0.0.1/myadmin it keeps giving me conection refused?? sorry for making this so complicated but it is! |

OK
thought I should answer this one after some research i found that a couple of months ago I loaded a server programe called websmith which has its own built in database, which is why I could not load Apache. |
