Any ideas?

Hi,

I have been asked to design a site, but don't really know where to start and was wondering if one of you guys could add your ideas.

The idea is that users go onto it and are asked questions about what they require from a service. Then the website feeds back to the user with a reccomendation as to what service they should use. Also, it is required that the user's preferences are then saved, so that the data can be used at a later date.

Is this possible? If so do you have any ideas as to the best way to implement this?

Yes this is complicated and completely possible. If you are planning on doing this yourself I would start by learning PHP and MySQL. If you want to hire someone I would recommend Ben Cardy.

Cheers for the advice, much appreciated. What are the good resources for learning MySQL, as I am a bit of a beginner in this field. I am planning to learn PHP soon anyway, but do not really know where to start with the MySQL part.

w3schools is always a great place to start. Google will help you find some great resources. Also you might want to search around this forum some, I know this topic has come up.
