A FLASH Forum?

I was questioning the faesability of this the other day. Why has no one made a forum in flash, obviously with the backend SQL and perhaps PHP. But why has no one done it? The interactive interface combined with the concept of a forum could prove amazing. Am I missing an obvious flaw?

Lol, likewise, that's why I've never really looked into it, if there were more popular attempts then I wouldn't have hesistated. Perhaps it's because everyone assumes it wouldn't work that it hasn't been tried... I might give it a go.. though I'm really rubbish at flash and PHP and MySQL are my stronger languages.

Lol, none as yet unfortunately, if you google it you just get forums based on flash lol. I love the concept though, I mean, think of the endless yet pointless additions you could add - obviously without overdoing the gimmicks. It'd be genius.

I agree, but it would cause a TON of issues, and it could be stolen rather easily, so if you tried to sell it, or make any profit for that matter, it would just be stolen.

I guessed as much, that's were the PHP integration becomes a big part of it, they could steal it - however without its backend it's just a typical interface that any newbie could create. That's my aim anyways, it will likely take up my summer holidays but I will make it. . Can't wait to get started, if it does, however fail, then I might try something else flash based. I'm obsessed with internet communication, things like MMoRPGs and MSN via flash fascinate me, themed chat that occupies the typical teenager's evening, it's not only profitable but extensively fun. I like what flash has to offer, though relatively noobish to it, in all honesty. Meh.

Pretty good to see a flash forum, means it's possible. However, is there a reason it only has one forum (Category)?

It's an extremely simple and it looks easily...no other word...hackable. Theres no password? Just find out someones email and bam! You have their login...I think.
It's interesting tho, and it makes me want to go make one.

You and me both... should be an interesting project.

You have to think how long it would take and the load time all these factors come itno play and maybe people think it wouldent be worth the work because of the file size or just plain laziness. Either or.

It could be brilliant, if it was done in the right way. I have my reservations as goes usability and accesibility but it quite an exciting prospect. The things you could do. I could be amazing.

And I don't even think flash should exist. I'm pretty taken by the idea. Someone else will have to do it though as I struggle to convert something to a symbol in flash so...
