Post Help With My Html

I will happily pay someone to sort this out for me.

I have created my own website using microsoft publisher 2003 and was wondering if anyone knows how i can clean up my html code.
It views correctly in ie7 but with the images taking a while to download to the page, but does not view correctly in firefox.
I have done a w3c html validator and it says i have 203 faults with my source code.
Can anyone give me any advice as to how to sort it out. I'm not very good with html and any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Lee

Re: Help With My Html

Without a link it's very hard to help.

But if you are ready to pay for someone to fix the site up for you, I suggest posting in the Job Opportunities forums.

If you want, however, to learn to do it yourself, then I suggest ditching Publisher and using Notepad. Start from scratch, learn HTML and CSS and go from there.

Re: Help With My Html

Hi Lee:
This site needs to be started from scratch. The code that is there is something I've never seen before.
Code: Select all
</span><![endif]><!--[if gte vml 1]><v:rect id="_x0000_s18361" style='position:absolute;
 left:9pt;top:672pt;width:150pt;height:115.32pt;z-index:160;
 mso-wrap-distance-left:2.88pt;mso-wrap-distance-top:2.88pt;
 mso-wrap-distance-right:2.88pt;mso-wrap-distance-bottom:2.88pt'
 o:preferrelative="t" filled="f" fillcolor="white [7]" stroked="f"
 strokecolor="green [0]" insetpen="t" o:cliptowrap="t">
 <v:fill color2="white [7]"/>
 <v:stroke color2="white [7]">
  <o:left v:ext="view" color="green [0]" color2="white [7]"/>
  <o:top v:ext="view" color="green [0]" color2="white [7]"/>
  <o:right v:ext="view" color="green [0]" color2="white [7]"/>
  <o:bottom v:ext="view" color="green [0]" color2="white [7]"/>
  <o:column v:ext="view" color="green [0]" color2="white [7]"/>
 </v:stroke>
 <v:imagedata src="index_files/image008.jpg"alt="Before Polishing On Tray" o:title="CIMG0002"/>
That's the stuff MP put in.

You don't have a doc type at the very top of your code which is what browsers use to figure out "what language" your site speaks (bad analogy)

If you want to do this yourself, go to the html forum section and look through all the recommended html text editors or pick up a copy of Dreamweaver 8 and use the code view.

Probably the least frustrating thing to do is have someone do it for you if you don't have the time or energy to learn it!
