Flash MX (Actionscript panel differences) Need help

I 'was' using Flash 5, but now am using Flash MX. Problem I'm having lately is the actionscript panel; it's way different than in 5.

What I want to do is set something to be clicked on to navigate to a url... so what happened to being able to click on "getURL" and choose which mouse function? I can't even find that option anywhere in this new version.

Under the actionscript panel go to Actions>Movie control. Note: you must have selected or select a button right now before you apply this function to it.

Once thats open click "on" then you will see the list of on realease and what not. Then just find your other action in this case getURL which is located under Browser/Network. and it should work from there.

Ive never used flash 5 so dunno what your talking about but hope this helps. Also it would be easier to remember it 8)

Ahhh, okay. Well I guess there's another question involved in this then: The image I want to make into a link is part of a movie clip on one layer. Do I have to convert this image into a button symbol? Is that even possible with it being part of a movie clip?

Thanks.
