Problems with Apache

I'm a pain - i know!

Anyway, Apache. I install it fine, and it all works fine, no problems with the installation, but it just wont work.

Whenever i open Apache Service Monitor, i just get a blank dos screen with the title as "Apache Service Monitor - [Finsihed]" instead of the usual monitor

Also, when I go to "start" apache, i get this:

Can anyone help? I do know that I have to edit the httpd conf file, and I have managed to do it correctly on this pc (the one i am having problems with is the one upstairs in my room - its not got the net (yet) lol ) and got no problems, but when i do the same upstairs i get errors

It sounds like something is already hosting on port 80. Is IIS running?

As for the log error, you should change that in the conf file.

Then I'm a bit stumped. If you're still not getting anywhere go to start > run and in the box type 'cmd' (assuming you're running 2000 or XP).

Then type 'netstat'. On the left will be all the currently-established network and internet connections. Hopefully port 80 is not in use?
