How do you make text roll that changes eg like a slot machine bars?

Was expecting that reply, was not sure how to explain it better. Image the movement of the barrels on a slot machine (uk: fruit machine) (cherry, bar etc). I want the text to do the same movement spinning from top to bottom and slowly coming to a stationary position.

Well I would start by planning out exactly what I want as far as font and text goes. Then break the font apart, that way you can alter the font and bind it like it is going up. Of course you would want to do this in a movie clip. Any Questions?
