My buttons now require a doubleclick??
Something has changed on my website www.datacraft.tv
My title bar that has links to my home page, About Us, News, etc. now requires a doubleclick to navigate to the page instead of a single click. The telltale little hand should mean that it's only a single click (and it used to be that way), but it's not working now. Also, I notice that when I hover in the button area, a frame comes up around the bar. I think what is happening is that the first click activates the button bar, the second click pushes the button. Please help me if you can. I'm not an experienced designer. Thank you!!! |

Re: My buttons now require a doubleclick??
That's because they're Flash. Microsoft put in some preventative measures against using Flash in a bad way. Never use Flash for navigation anyway. Use a CSS styled unordered list.
As search engines can't read Flash, they may not be able to navigate to other pages on your site, which will hurt your rankings. |

Re: My buttons now require a doubleclick??
Let me correct Ryan. Search engines can read flash...go Google! But I must say though experience..they suck at reading it! Any way, it is much better to use text navigation. You could use flash navigation at the top, and text navigation on the bottom, up to you!
As for the double click. Here is my solution...have fun! http://www.webforumz.com/flash-forum...s-or-using.htm |

Re: My buttons now require a doubleclick??
Google reads Flash now? I missed the memo
I know it's getting more and more accessible, but I had no idea Google could read it. Can it follow links? |

Re: My buttons now require a doubleclick??
Google can read flash and follow links in flash, has been able to for at least 2 years now. They are currently working on reading text in images as well.
Anyways, about the click thing, Microsoft didn't want to put that in there. They got into some stupid lawsuit about the way they index their active X content so the person who redid it was a (not very smart) and didn't see the fact that people didn't want to click EVERYTHING before they used it. I wonder if he is the guy who designed Vista? LOL (ALLOW?)

Re: My buttons now require a doubleclick??
*Scene goes black. Classic movie trailer voice:
"Jacob Haug, Flash expert, will have to use every ounce of cunning, ingenuity and pride. That he can muster. To lead the internet into a new era. It's a revolution!" *Flashes a scene of Jacob sitting at the computer. Then in front of the Microsoft building. *Dramatic boom* Then with a gun in each hand while he flies over a cubicle, papers flying everywhere. "Jacob Haug must survive and defeat the enemy. Or the world is doomed." Frightened looking actress crouching under a desk whispers: "God help us." "Coming Friday, April 13th, Jacob Haug stars in... Flashy Pants" |

This works, instructions are slightly wrong. Check out the link to the page they've used it in and you should be able to work it out from there. |
