jump to marker using parameters

Hi guys,

I have a movie which is like a long timeline of history, it scrolls left and right. I have markers at certain points and I need to find out how to pass a parameter into the movie and make it jump to a certain marker, depending on the value of the parameter.

Any ideas please?!?!? (sirkent! :wink

I dont get what youre asking.. but it sounds like you just want to name the frames at the markers and do something like "if parameter value = x, gotoandplay "marker/frame name""

obviously thats not the actionscript heh, is that what you're trying to do though?

or are you trying to pass the parameter from something outside of flash?

I need to pass the parameter from the webpage into the flash movie, like so:

movie.swf?client=abc

Then I need the flash movie to read that parameter and jump to the marker called "abc" in the movie.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
