Javascript Parent and Child menu in Safari??

Hi

I have a webdeveloper creating a site for me. There is a drop down menu which features countries then below that there are states. What I want to happen is you choose a country then in the menu below that you only see the states related to that country. What happens in safari is you pick a country then below that you see all the states, is there a way he can make this work? At the moment he thinks there isn't. It works Ok in firefox and netscape.

Is there anyworkround etc

Thank you

tbh not many people use safari so it wouldnt be beneficial to you to spend too much time working on this feature - if it works in IE, Firefox and Opera then thats the main thing
