Re: Options Tags

Not possible. You can only change the background by doing this

Code: Select all
select {
            background-color: #900;
}
But you can't change the hover state no.

THis article by Roger Johansson might be of some use - Styling form controls with CSS revisted

Unless someone has a JS way of doing it!?

Re: Options Tags

Since select lists are browser devices, not HTML, there is no way to style them. The only way to actually do this would be to create a select list using an unordered list, styling it with CSS then adding JS functionality.

I have a very simple JS one that I've created a while back, but it is by no means meant for long lists. It's also not form friendly yet. You'll need to add some type of functionality via JS so variables are actually submitted with the rest of the form. I have not tested this in any browsers, so if it doesn't work, sorry!

Re: Options Tags

There's a good article on styling select lists here:
http://www.sitepoint.com/article/style-web-forms-css/3

I think there's actually a lot you could do with them if you got really creative. The best way, of course, is to use Flash -- one of its few really good uses for content sites.
