Mainttain aspect ratio in different resolutions
Greetings!
I have a page design from a graphic artist and I am coding it into reality for the company I work for. And it is no problem! Except... I am doing a top nav bar and a left side nav bar - all done in gif from the graphic artist. originally she designed it for 800x600 and it looked real good in that. But according to our web report, most our users use 1024x768 They want the site looking pretty much the same no matter the rez. So I called the graohic artist and she is re-vamping the graphics for a 1024 and the thought is I will 'Sqeeze' or 'resize' the page to fit the window side to side. I have no idea how to make this work and work right. Is it even possible? Am I going about this the wrong way? Is there a better way? Any advice would be super, super helpful. By the by - I am using Adobe GoLive CS2 Thanks in advance! You are always helpful! nate~ |

Re: Mainttain aspect ratio in different resolutions
A link or an image and some code would help a whole lot.
Usually, to have your site "fluid" you need to use % instead of fixed width. |

Re: Mainttain aspect ratio in different resolutions
Yeah, % is the way to go.
But will the image maps change size as well? I am seeing so many 'what ifs' with this I am wondering if there is a better way to do it. I will have the new images and my work posted in the next day I still have not got the new size from the graphic designer. Thanks for the help and more info to come! n~ |
