Flash: Billybussey

Ok, a new contender:

For those of you with broadband, you'll need 1 Mbit or more to view the intro streaming, otherwise you'll have to wait a little.

For those on ISDN or less.... Skip the intro... It really isn't worth it for you!

Actually, if you're not on broadband the site isn't worth it generally.

And as far as I can see "High band" and "Low band" are exactly the same!

Anyways here it is... And it is mighty impressive. I've been keeping an eye on this one for a while and was expecting maybe a little more, but this is still a very impressive site graphically.
Give me your thoughts:

This one I like. A little disappointing that the intro is in QuickTime. Would be nice to have it all in flash.

This guy is creative. I bookmarked it so I can follow his work. Great find!

This one has my vote.

Even at broadband it took AGES to load... but when it did I was blew away!!

Not a winner in my book though... this is a winner for tomorrow's speeds not today.

Not sure how you can say that. We have a standard 512 BB connection and the site flew.

Once it was loaded... it flew sure... but it took 3 minutes to load on my 512 broadband connection.

yeah, this sites loading time does take the piss a bit. Most people would get bored of waiting, and just give up.

Apart from that, its a stunning site

Well, on my 1.5 connection it works great! Streamed just fine being a movie and all. ;-) Perhaps you chaps just need to get faster connections!

Well as for the graphics go, totally awesome, but as for the rest of the site? the layout is OK? I am sorry to say this, but with the graphics techniques they have going here, there should be some serious thinking going on about the loading. It took me a whole 3 seconds to get the thing to load, and the intro movie? I didn't even have to wait! So, what I am saying is, I have cable, and I am from Alabama, my last time I checked my connection, I was connecting at about 1.7 MBPS, so move to Alabama if you want to see this site, cause aint no one use cable and you can see stuff really fast. lol, sorry for the sarcaasm.

I was using a 1.5 mbps when connecting but since the site should be quite far away ( probably near Alabama ), it loaded reeaal slow but yeah; i was taken away by the introduction. extremely ( the best i've seen ) advanced and enthralling.

the main site was quite good but slowed down after sometime on my pc ( think it used too much processing power and RAM ).. The main site is a feat in 3D but I think the intro sequence is the most impressive...

wished i could create those 3d movies and effects

This is obviously an exceptionally good example of what can be done with flash. The initial load on the high-bandwidth option was 4.5mb - which on broadband shouldn't take minutes (those that it did for - you need to test your connection speed). The low-band is the same

My one criticism is that I do get slowdown - not from loading, but from trying to draw the 3d animations and transitions, which is really not something you expect from a website, regardless of how impressive it is.

For those who don't want to stream the movie, just download http://www.billybussey.com/intro/intro.mov

Nick, for me the loading is fine except at certain times when I believe the server load is high. The animation however presented no problems and certainly no slow down?

It takes about 2-3 seconds for it to load for me, although I do have a cable connection. Those of you say DSL is the best, well maybe where you live it is a comparison, but here DSL connects at 1.3 MBPS, while Cable connects at 3.2MBPS. I am telling you, Alabama is the best!!!

In the UK DSL will go up to around 8MBPS, but the standard home version is 0.5MBPS with 1MBPS coming down it price very soon. Cable is available in 0.5MBPS and 1MBPS versions already.
