Use for Flash

I have this page.

It has Flash at the top. But i use it in a poor way, right?

What do people think i should have here instead of the scrolling News thing?

Or if Flash is a certain NO NO, then what should I have here.

Also if you check out the little "balls" in front of the text inmy Flash movie, they are square at the top. Why is this? I have JPG detail on 100. Also i know the text under "INFO" jumps at the end.

I think it's a good use for flash because it's additional to your page and draws the user's attention. It doesn't hog the page and doesn't restrict the user from looking at your content. Flash is only really a NO NO when you force the user to use it or force them to watch an intro, for example, but that's a decision that some people take.

The balls look square because they have highlights - So they are in fact showing properly.

So how do i get rid of the squareness?

What do you mean by Highlights?

The circles are highligted.... they have small white areas to make them look 3d... as if light was reflecting off of them. Just...edit them or make new ones!! lol
