The Great Flash Project!!!

Ok, I was wondering if I could get with some of yall, and create some kind of awesome flash movie. It could be either very simple- or it could be very complex. But remembre I don't know actionscript, so that is a drawback. But what I am wanting to do is to create a beginning to the movie, then we both do something to it, upload it and show it off, whichever one is better gets used, and then you keep doing that until you are completely done. It's really cool, I did it once before and made a pretty decent flash movie, (the files gone now though ) More than 2 people can join in also, if you want, we can make a game out of it!!!

So this is similiar to the photoshop battle I posted about, but instead a battle in flash?

Sounds like a pretty good idea - especially as your flash skills grow and we get some other good flashers on the forums. Plus we can all learn something from each other.

Another reason to make a "Battle/Collab" forum for battles and collaborations both in photoshop and flash - something that a friend of mine and I are currently exploring also.

Why don't we instead have a redesign the forum battle. Like the great www.astalavista.com site did. Everyone come up with their version of what the site should look like. Logo, colors, etc.

And I now have 3 stars!!!!!!!

I think a redesign the Forum battle would be a very cool idea...

I would however like to keep Smokie's wicked logo!

What does everyone else think?

It's definetly worthwhile, but as I have said before, I think we should wait until we have some more members, especially some more graphically minded members. At the moment we have a lot of scripters and less designers, but hopefully we will have some more soon.

At the moment it would be a fairly shallow contest, simply because of the small number of applicants.

You're just scared coz you'll have more competition.... :LOL:

No, hes not scared, he just knows that I am the only non scripter on here. Which is strange, and he wants me to become a scripter before we start .

As for the flash project, it would give us all an awesome flash file to put in our portfolio as a group project, and it is tons of fun. I am not an actionScript pro, although some guy said I was, and I didnt even use anything other than stop; and goto("scene"), but whatever.

PS EDIT, I do know that those are not codically correct!!!

I mean, lol, that it'll be more of a challenge for me when we have more people

redesign the forum? I thought this forum was created using Snitz? you mean redesign as in use a totally new engine or ... just change the colours and layout that sort of thing...

anyway, for any redesign, I'm afraid I can't really help 'cause I'm a 'Jack of All trades' with PCs. I know stuff like linux, systems administration, security, database programming, graphics designing, flash, web design but I'm the most intermediate in all computer stuff except server security and probably C++...

Yes, we meant visual design. Changes to the engine have been occurring frequently.

Ahh, ok, I am glad that you specified that. Although, if I could change one thing, and only one thing about this site.... Yeah Yeah, yall know what it would be....

what has it ever done to me?? It has driven me insane as I look up at it, it makes my eyes water, my throat dry. It makes me drink water like a camel, it makes my stomach hurt to look at it. It gives me headaches, neck pains, and sometimes migraines. Cheers!!!

So if you drink like a camel, then you drink very rarely.... or what?

Yes, I drink only when I am on this site, and when I drink so much that when I am not here I dont have to for days, unless I come back here.....
