Different coloured links without modifying links?

Ok, I'm modifying the stylesheets for a forum and need to give links in differently named cells, different colours. I know you can put the class onto the link and do it that way, but I really don't want to have to edit LOADS of scripts, so is there a way to do this from the stylesheet with only the table cell named?
