I must admit, the Photoshop limitations of scrolling and zoom have never presented an issue to me? The zoom is plentiful and the scrolling issue...? You can scroll over...even when you have tools in use... and the configurable settings enable a great deal of preference in that.

Photshop is the industry standard. If you see some really good graphics work, it's probably photoshop. Magazine work, adverts - especially billboards and alot of print work and new media, is all photoshop. It's the bee's knees, but it doens't look like it when you first fire up the program. After you play for a while you will learn it's power.

Books are good, but don't just learn the methods they give you. The books are there to help you understand what the features do and how to experiment, but are not there to teach you exact methods. Always play and always try new things. It may seems difficult but it's always possible and - you can always ask us. We may not be complete photoshop masters, but some of us knows some fairly advanced techniques.
